Sarah

Allied Health Manager & Speech Pathologist

Sarah lights up any room she steps into! She loves connecting with people, Nodos donuts, and spending time with the family on the beach or out in nature with their cavoodle Ted!

Sarah’s career spans over two decades in New Zealand, Scotland and Australia working in community care, acute and subacute rehabilitation settings, bringing a wealth of clinical knowledge! Sarah specialises in acquired brain injury, stroke, neurodegenerative conditions and swallowing disorders, backed by her published research in the field of dysphagia.

Sarah has led allied health teams with passion and dedication. She is deeply committed to fostering an environment of clinical excellence, supporting the growth of her team and creating a culture of respect, fun and autonomy. 

Bec

Senior Speech Pathologist

Bec is a passionate reader and avid traveller. Bec’s great loves are her family and exploring the world! With experience working in universities, private clinics and community based settings, Bec brings with her a wealth of clinician knowledge and experience to her role as a speech pathologist! Bec has spent much of her career supporting children in the home and school environments, believing in a naturalistic approach to therapy. Bec specialises in Language & Literacy, School Readiness and Paediatric participants. 

Bec can speak basic conversational Malay and Tamil. 

Vanessa

Speech Pathologist

Vanessa is a compassionate speech therapist who specialises in working with adult participants. She has extensive experience supporting individuals recovering from strokes and traumatic brain injuries, as well as those living with progressive neurological conditions. Her expertise also includes helping adults with dysphagia, ensuring they regain confidence and safety with eating and swallowing.

Known for her warm and approachable demeanor, Vanessa takes a patient-centered approach, tailoring each therapy session to meet participants unique needs and goals. Outside of work, she’s happiest exploring the outdoors on hiking trails or discovering the best coffee spots in town!

Thanh

Speech Pathologist

Meet Thanh, our newest Speech Pathologist! Thanh has a passion for supporting people across all ages, with a particular interest in neurological disorders that affect swallowing and communication. He loves drawing on his personal skills and experiences in therapy, and especially enjoys connecting with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds as well as male participants. In his free time, Thanh expresses their creativity through art—both in drawing and in street dance. He looks forward to empowering each person he works with to communicate confidently and live life to the fullest!

Thanh is proficient in speaking Vietnamese.

Amelia

Speech Pathologist

Amelia graduated from the University of Queensland and is passionate about supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and speech and language difficulties across various settings.

Amelia values evidence-based, client-centered care and aims to create a fun and engaging learning environment where participants and families feel empowered to achieve their communication goals. Amelia engages participants thought the power of play: moving around, playing games, building with toys and solving puzzles!

Jessie

Senior Occupational Therapist

There’s a uniqueness to Jessie’s therapy that is hard to find elsewhere. Combining over a decade of occupational therapy practice with her own lived experience as an ADHDer, Jessie is passionate about providing therapy that is neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, strengths-based and client-centered.
Jessie works predominantly with neurodivergent adolescents and young adults, such as those who are Autistic, ADHDers, LGBTQIA+, have intellectual disabilities and co-occurring mental health needs. She has extensive clinical experience supporting clients with sensory processing, self-regulation, school/work participation, puberty and sexuality.
Since moving to Brisbane in December 2023, Jessie has loved practicing yoga, mountain biking in Daisy Hill, hanging out with rescued animals and attending professional wrestling events!

Julie

Senior Occupational Therapist

Meet Julie, her love for colour, playfulness and adventure adds an element of fun and creativity to her clinical approach, making every session engaging and enjoyable.
Julie is passionate about using a playful, strengths based, neurodivergent affirming approach when working with all children and their loved ones. She enjoys working alongside children with any sort of challenges that impact on their daily functioning, such as developmental, sensory, toileting, feeding concerns and working with all our neurodivergent populations including: Autistic, ADHD, Down syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Intellectual Disabilities. Julie is especially passionate about working with the under seven population and participants of culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
Julie can speak basic conversational Dari. 

Kathy

Occupational Therapist

Meet Kathy, whose warm and playful nature shines through in every therapy session. Kathy takes a play-based and client-centred approach, creating an environment where participants feel empowered, supported, and valued.
Kathy has a special interest in paediatrics and enjoys working with children of all abilities, particularly those with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and ADHD. She is also passionate about supporting families through home modifications, ensuring their spaces are safe, functional, and tailored to their needs.
A lover of animals, Kathy finds joy and comfort in spending time with her housemates’ cats and dog.
Kathy is proficient in speaking Mandarin and Cantonese.

Lisi

Occupational Therapist

Lisi’s passion for art and creative projects is a cornerstone of her therapeutic approach. As an Occupational Therapist, she strives in adult mental health, autism, and sensory impairment, bringing a creative and sensitive perspective to her work. Lisi’s approach in these areas allows her to provide tailored, compassionate care, helping her participants to overcome obstacles and embrace their potential.
Lisi is proficient in speaking isiZulu and Xhosa. Lisi also understands basic conversational Afrikaans.

Kevin

Occupational Therapist

Kevin brings a unique and creative take to his therapy sessions. Passionate about fishing and art, he combines these creative pursuits with a deep understanding of Occupational Therapy. With a deep knowledge of Autism, ADHD, stroke rehabilitation, and enhancing hand and fine motor skills, Kevin is dedicated to assisting participants navigate their challenges and achieve their goals.
Kevin is proficient in speaking Mandarin.

Linda

Occupational Therapist

With over 33 years of practice, including 10 remarkable years in Africa, Linda is a fountain of knowledge! Linda‘s predominant area of clinical experience is assisting adults with mental health needs and diverse abilities to build capacity, enhance independence, and achieve their personal goals. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her beloved dog, Isla! 

Tobi-Kay

Occupational Therapist

Meet Tobi-Kay, an Occupational Therapist who approaches each client with a warm, supportive demeanor. Outside of work, she treasures time with her family and enjoys outdoor adventures. With a deep personal connection to neurodiversity through her autistic brother, Tobi is dedicated to paediatric occupational therapy, blending practical experience with empathy to support neurodivergent individuals

Chez

Senior Physiotherapist

Chez, the team’s plant dad, real life ChatGPT, and enthusiast of Jiu Jitsu, brings a unique perspective to physiotherapy. His strengths lie in acquired neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injuries, and multiple sclerosis, as well as sports preparation and musculoskeletal injury management. Chez derives great value in enabling participants to dream big and set meaningful goals to live a fulfilled life. Chez’s approach combines his passion for martial arts with a deep understanding of the body, offering participants both physical and mental resilience in their recovery journey and beyond.

Kirsten

Physiotherapist

An avid triathlete and runner who enjoys cooking, Kirsten’s dynamic lifestyle fuels her physiotherapy practice. She excels in stroke, multiple sclerosis and neurodivergence, also has just completed an online APA neurology course! leveraging her athletic experience to guide clients through their rehabilitation. Kirsten’s holistic approach and endurance sports background offer a unique blend of strength and empathy to her participants.
Kirsten can speak basic conversational French. 

Tom

Physiotherapist

Competing in Jujitsu, Tom lives and breathes martial arts! Tom brings a balanced approach to physiotherapy. He focuses on treating headaches, neck and jaw issues, neurological conditions, stroke rehab and arthritis. Tom’s experience in martial arts inform his holistic view of health, offering participants a comprehensive approach to their well-being.

Kim

Physiotherapist

Kim, who enjoys rock-climbing and loves her cat ‘Mabel,’ excels in muscle, joint, and nerve pain, diabetes, and multiple sclerosis. Her adventurous spirit and caring nature are evident in her approach to physiotherapy, providing participants with a supportive and dynamic pathway to recovery.
Kim can speak basic conversational Vietnamese. 

Sam

Physiotherapist

Sam, a powerlifting enthusiast, channels his strength and discipline into his physiotherapy practice. He excels in managing rheumatoid arthritis, amputee rehabilitation, Parkinson’s Disease, and add falls and balance management. Sam’s professional and personal dedication to fitness provide a robust and compassionate framework for his participants’ rehabilitation programs.

Rob

Senior Prosthetist/ Orthotist

Rob is spearheading our most recent clinical space, by bringing Orthotics and Prosthetics into Amend Rehab!
Rob is an adventure junkie and loves riding his bike more than most people drive their car. He often does cross continental voyages spanning thousands of kilometers across multiple countries.
Rob has been working as a Prosthetist/Orthotist now for 8 years in Australia, Cambodia, Sweden and Norway. He specialises in working with Neurological Conditions and Musculoskeletal Deformities as well as Pressure Offloading for sore or injured parts of the body.
Rob is passionate about furthering the capabilities of Orthotics and Prosthetics by learning and implementing 3d scanning, modelling and printing into his work.
Rob is proficient in speaking Swedish and Norwegian. Rob also understands basic conversational Danish.

Henry

Therapy Assistant

As our budding Therapy Assistant, Henry supports our participants on the NDIS, bringing not only his skills but also his boundless enthusiasm and compassion to every interaction. When he’s not contributing to the wellbeing of our participants, Henry can be found skateboarding, exploring the world of music, or deeply engrossed in his studies to become an Occupational Therapist.
Henry can speak basic conversational Vietnamese. 

John

Company Director and Physiotherapist

John, Company Director and Physiotherapist, is a tennis enthusiast and enjoys cold plunges. John’s energy and passion for sports extend into creating a vibrant and happy team environment. There is never a dull moment when John is around. He believes in the power of a positive workplace and actively contributes to maintaining a culture where every team member feels valued and motivated.

John can speak basic conversational Arabic. 

Aiden

Company Director and Physiotherapist

Aiden, who is both a Company Director and a Physiotherapist, has a love for woodwork and is known as ‘The Office Handyman’. Beyond his clinical practice, Aiden plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring that the team operates in a supportive and collaborative environment. His leadership and hands-on approach make Amend Rehab not just a place of healing for participants, but also a nurturing space for the team!

Jen

Operations and Admin

Jen, a culinary enthusiast with a passion for home DIY projects and her puppy Max, is the backbone of our operations and admin team. She excels in system operations, business development, and establishing effective protocols and procedures. Jen’s organisational skills and attention to detail ensure smooth internal operations, supporting our team in providing the best care and service.

Jen can speak basic conversational Tagalog. 

Harriet

Marketing and Admin

Harriet, with her love for reading, attending live music events, and appreciating art, brings creativity and energy to our marketing and admin sector. Her areas of expertise include innovative marketing strategies, engaging content creation, and effective social media management. Harriet’s artistic sensibilities and communication skills play a crucial role in connecting our services with the community and sharing our stories.
