Supporting children, adolescents and adults to practise therapy goals, build independence and develop everyday skills between therapist appointments.

Our Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) work under the supervision of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists to help participants achieve their goals through structured, individualised support. Services are available from our Camp Hill clinic and selected community locations across Brisbane.

HOW OUR ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANTS CAN HELP

Our Allied Health Assistants provide practical support to help participants work towards their therapy goals in everyday environments. We offer clinic-based and community-based support across Brisbane, helping participants build confidence, independence and participation in daily life.

Daily Living Skills

Our AHAs assist participants to develop practical everyday skills including personal care, meal preparation, routines, organisation, community access and independent living.

Therapy Program Support

Our AHAs help participants practise exercises, activities and strategies prescribed by their therapist, ensuring goals continue to be worked on between appointments.

Community Access

We support participants to engage with their community, build confidence in social settings, access recreational activities and develop greater independence.

Capacity Building

Our AHAs focus on building functional skills that improve independence and participation at home, school, work and within the community.

Exercise Programs

Our AHAs can assist participants with exercise programs prescribed by a Physiotherapist to improve strength, mobility, balance and physical function.

Social and Communication Skills

Under therapist guidance, our AHAs can support participants to practise social interaction, communication strategies and community participation goals.

Our Allied Health Assistants work under the guidance of our Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists to help participants practise skills, build confidence and work towards their NDIS goals between therapy sessions. Programs are tailored by the treating clinician and delivered in a practical, engaging way.

Speech Pathology

Support communication, social interaction, mealtime strategies and speech therapy goals through regular practice.

Occupational Therapy

Practise daily living skills, independence, community participation and routines designed by your occupational therapist.

Physiotherapy

Continue working on mobility, strength, balance, exercise programs and physical goals between physiotherapy appointments.

In many cases, Allied Health Assistant services can be funded through an NDIS plan when they relate to a participant’s therapy goals and are recommended by the treating therapist.

The frequency of Allied Health Assistant sessions depends on your goals, needs and therapist recommendations. Some participants attend weekly sessions, while others may benefit from fortnightly or monthly support.
